Anybody Have Any Calamine Lotion?

  • Mood: Scratch, scatch, scratch
  • Music: Poison Ivy

I have an itch.  It’s taken over my entire body, disturbing my sleep, making me antsy and out of sorts.  I keep telling myself if I don’t scratch it will go away.  It always does.  But this one is pretty insistent.  I have things that I have to do and this itching keeps getting in the way.  And to top it all off, I’m being yelled at.  I’ve tried ignoring it too, but it keeps getting louder and more rambunctious.  Makes me just want to get out the ol’ fly swatter and squish them.  Flat, like a pancake.  It’s irritating to be yelled at constantly, you know?  Between the itching and the yelling I’m about to go nuts (watch it!).  So I’ve decided there’s only one thing to do.  I’m going to clean my desk, balance the checkbooks and then I’m going to scratch this itch until it bleeds.  In other words, I’m going to write this weekend.  And maybe then Skye, Jordan, Jude and the group will quiet down too and the itching will abate long enough to get other things done.  Or not …

Book Draw:  You remember how this goes.  Tell me if you want one and names will be drawn and announced on Monday.  Also, I’ve been known to toss one your way for no particular reason than IT’S MY BLOG AND I CAN IF I WANT TO!

Oh, go scratch that itch, girl. I think that's the best time to get on with some writing, when you simply have to.

Did we fall out or are you having trouble with my blog again?

Posted by Susan:

Congratulations to your son and his team Christa. A week isn't much time to accomplish that much!

Glenice, congrats to your niece and her team!

Eve, Good luck with your writing this weekend.

Bad Boys to Go, I think I'm the only person who hasn't read any of the Bad Boys books!

Hmm. I like the witchy titles.

Ha, I have that same itch. Good luck with the writing. Go to it.
Oh, and I see Diane's paranoia is still firmly in place. :o)

Gosh - go to the store and the mob and the paranoia police move in
Glenice - hint, hint - gotta it. Glad you enjoyed it. And you can put your "Man" entry here.
Christa - got it down hon.
Suze - Dark Hunter huh? Have I created another monster?
Diane - Scratch, scratch - itch, itch. Computer problems so I had to close down the computer and went and did errands instead. I'll get there - honest.
Susan - you haven't read any of the "Bad Boy" series? Sweetie - you've been missing out, especially with Jill's new one coming out this summer.
Rene - yes ma'am.
Toni - feeling better? You like witchy titles - why should I be surprised
Shirley - yeah, gotta get that itch taken care of - and yes, Diane's paranoia is showing up - but we love her that way.
Okay - not writing today - per se - I have to clean the desk - I'm losing bills and paying bills late. I've got the clean out the drawer in my desk so that Bebo can install my hanging files and get this stuff organized. Paid bill stubs are littering the desk - honest - there's another avalanche in the making. I'm thinking it will probably be Sunday (or this afternoon if I can stay awake - you know I don't sleep well on Thursday nights - another 2:00 in the morning night).

(and in my house - I amd the one screaming!!!)

Hi Eve! Thanks for stopping by! I AM feeling a lot better, but can't seem to settle to writing. I guess I've hit a rough patch and need to write my way through it as I'm not feeling particularly itchy! Hope you have a good scratch and enjoy the weekend too!

Butterfly -
Melissa - good luck - I didn't have any today - told y'all that the late night might screw with my day.
Toni - no, it doesn't have to be a name, but it helps since I like to have two or three different images (moods) of the character - that's why soap opera people are good because there are plenty of them in magazines - sometimes in "scenes". Psst - you need to send me those sites

Glenice - yeah, pretty yummy!

I agree with those who said "scratch that itch." Go get it, girl. I was just reading a confession by a writer who got a severe case of writer's block after her fourth book. So go while the muse is there.

Congratulations to Christa's son. Is it a Canadian competition? Was it a college or company team?

And which book. Too many to choose from. Only a few authors are familiar and I have the "Star" book. I looked up some of the story lines and came up with an unexpected book as favorite. I love Chartres which I've been to see more than 4 or 5 times and find more fascinating every time I go. Even as I write one of the figures from one of the doors is hanging over my bed--well a card of it, of course. It has to count as my favorite cathedral.

Therefore, my first choice is

Susan Landry: The Last Bride. I've never even heard of it but I love that time period and especially the place. I can vividly remember when I last walked the streets around the cathedral with a friend of mine whose major was art. I learned so much from her.

BTW, if anybody else knows any books about Chartres, France (not far from Versailles), could you please let me know? I'm addicted to Chartres.

Second: Jennifer Greene's book
Third choice: Jill's book but that does seem to be popular.

Prayer still needed especially for Jock, my sister-in-law's father. He broke his hip Tuesday night and 72 hours later they were just finishing his surgery. Too many emergencies like heart ops and transplants to do before a measly hip. Cheesh.

Diane sounds remarkably like my mother. Whenever someone didn't write her so that the greeting was there on her birthday, she'd agonize over what she might have done to offend the person who sent no greeting. It's kind of a relief to find that other people have that kind of paranoia.
Friday, February 24th 2006 @ 9:47 PM

Posted by Eve Mardis:

Ruby - since Christa is in Canada, I'm going to assume its a Canadian competition, other than that I don't know. I have your choices noted. More prayers for Jock.
It's a known fact that a lot of authors are a bit paranoid, but with Shirley, Diane and I it's become a bit of an inside joke. Have a good night!
