I know, late again. Did you miss me? There’s not a lot going on around here – funny or otherwise. Have I told you the story about the Alzheimer’s patient who decided to go to bed earlier and earlier, only to wake up EARLIER and EARLIER? It has really messed with my internal clock. Last night she decided to go to bed around 9:00 – nothing Bebo or I could do would stop her. So, consequently, I was in bed by 10:00 – asleep somewhere around 11:00 (about 2 hours earlier than normal – bed by midnight, asleep by 1:00a.m.). So guess what? I woke up an hour earlier – 5:00 a.m. Did I get any more sleep? Do the math – just 6 hours, which, come to think of it, is about an hour more than normal – hey I got an hour more of sleep! Anyway, I just can’t seem to shake the sleepies no matter what I do. And with mom continuing to go to sleep early and wanting to get up at 5:00 (which she didn’t do this morning – thank God), I’m having to re-adjust my reading schedule. I haven’t read anything in the last week, and only 2 books since I was sick in, what? January? That wouldn’t be so bad except I keep adding to the TBR pile.
Bebo hasn’t been able to get on-line at work so I’ll fill you in a bit on her first couple of days. Monday was just orientation – no biggie. Tuesday was her first actual day of work. You know how when something happens early in the morning your whole day tends to go that way? It should only take about 20 minutes to get to work, so she cut it kind of close that morning, but no big deal – except that she came up upon an accident which made her 20 minutes late to work – AND she had forgotten her cell phone so she couldn’t call them to tell them she was running late! And it seemed to have gone downhill from there. She developed the “dropsies”, etc. The first day of work at any job is always stressful – nerves charge right in and take over your body. Bebo has excellent skills and is highly qualified for this job – she just let the nerve gods take over. She said that yesterday was better.
Here’s a picture that Glenice took in Waxahachie – it’s the house that we fell in love with. She took a side view so you could see all of the buildings behind it – yeah, all of that belongs to that house. And it all has to be original since the house has a historical marker! I figure one is a carriage house, but I can’t think of what the rest would be. I love houses with upstairs porches.
So that’s it – except that the weather is getting a bit schizzo. 80 degrees yesterday, 82 or so today – then tonight it plunges and we won’t get out of the 40s tomorrow, maybe not out of the 30s on Saturday, 40s on Monday. I love the cold weather – it’s the possibility of sleet on Saturday that has me worried – I have to go to work on Saturday morning and I hate driving in that stuff. Why couldn’t it be snow instead – that I have no problem driving in.
Hopefully, I’ll have something better to talk about tomorrow.
